The PFA
Cossington CE Primary School Parents and Friends Association
About your PFA:
All parents, carers, guardians and staff are automatically members of Cossington CE Primary School PFA and are welcome to attend meetings – we would love to see you there as your voice really does make a difference.
What the PFA does:
The primary goal of the PFA is to use the skills, time and help (be that fifteen minutes now and then or more) of the school and local community to raise funds that are used to enhance children’s experiences whilst at the school. We are passionate about our school and helping the children to be the best they can be.
The PFA Committee:
Our 2019/2020 Committee currently has a Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary and Treasurer, supported by two elected committee members and a number of other regular attendees and contributors at our meetings.
Chair: Donna Measures
Vice Chair: Laela Howard
Secretary: Michelle Cafferky
Treasurer: Helen Bradford
Committee Members: Fiona Carlisle and Michelle Talbot
Our PFA is totally dependent on a continual cycle of parent involvement. As children reach their final year and leave, so do their parents. The staff supports us when possible, but without parents involvement the PFA cannot function.
Events and activities are run by a mixture of parents, grandparents and willing helpers who work together for the benefit of the school. None of us are specialists in fundraising or have ever been involved in PFA’s before, and our meetings and planning sessions often involve sharing new ideas and suggestions, along with a lot of laughter!
Our children are only at school for a relatively short time. PFA events such as discos, parties, Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayres, games and competitions to the ever popular glitter tattoos will be remembered fondly by our children for a long time!
