Recommended Reads

At our school we put reading at the heart of everything we do. As parents the number one thing you can do to support your child's progress is to read with your children. This should be a mixture of hearing your child read, facilitating independent reading and reading to your child regularly. Doing this right through primary school will have meaningful impact on how your child performs at Cossington and beyond. Parents often ask us for recommendations of what to read with their child and we have prepared the leaflets below for each year group. The leaflets show a range of quality, age-appropriate texts that can be worked through across the year. All the books in the leaflets are available in school and can be borrowed by your child to take home, alongside their school reading book. We are also regularly adding to our school books so look out for other new quality texts your child may bring home.
