Writing

At Cossington CE Primary School  we follow the Talk for Writing approach to develop our children as effective and creative writers. The policy below details our overarching approach to Writing and details the intent for our children in this curriculum area, the way we implement a creative and effective Writing approach and the impact we intend this to have on pupils when they leave our school in Year 6. At the end of the policy, you can also view details about the texts we use to inspire children to write and a break down of planning showing what we teach and at what point in the year. 

From Year 2 onwards, we follow the Spelling Shed Scheme of Work to ensure our children receive a consistent approach to developing accurate spelling knowledge. The documents below show the Spelling Shed approach and detail  what we teach and when to help you support your child.
